Practical Nursing

Program Information

Classes meet 5 days per week for a total of 1328 hours/44 weeks. The classes run from August to June.

Licensed - By Missouri State Board of Nursing Following graduation and passage of the State Board Exam.

Practical - An expert in basic care of patients

Nurse - "Caring" for patients based on a solid knowledge base.

  • Eligible for financial assistance.
  • Approved by Missouri Department of Elementary & Secondary Education.
  • Option to further nursing education.
  • Placement averages 90% or better. 99.8% of graduates successfully pass State Board Examination.

Clinical

Primary sites are Western Missouri Medical Center and Golden Valley Memorial Hospital

Adult Nursing - 18 weeks including ICU, ER, OR Ambulatory Care, Mental Health & Internship

Maternity - 3 weeks including Nursery, Pre-natal, Post partum, Labor and Delivery

Child Nursing - 5 weeks including Inpatient, Physician's Office, and School Health

Care of the Elderly - 2 to 5 weeks in Community Sites

Leadership - 4 weeks including Acute and Long Term Care

Salary Range

$10.00 to $15.00 per hour.

Prerequisites

12th grade education or equivalent, 3 references demonstrating good moral character, physical examination, entrance exam, interview, drug tests and criminal background checks.
